Norwegian Society of St. Louis
Celebrates the Annual Pot Luck Smørgåsbord
Saturday, March 13, 2010
The Date: March 13, 2010
The Place: Christ Lutheran Church, Corner of Lockwood Ave. and Selma, Webster Groves in “new” annex
The Time: 5:00 – 6:00 PM - Registration and Complimentary Wine and Snacks
(Bringing your own beer is permitted if you prefer)
6:00 - 8:00 PM - Eating, Meeting, and Program
Since we didn’t have a chance to show off our baking in December, we all might like to bring our Norwegian pastries. This is great, but please bring some other foods too, and be ready to fellowship. Please indicate on your RSVP form what category of dish you would like to bring. Doors will open at 5:00 PM. Come early if your dish needs warming or other assembly so that serving can begin at 6:00. Please bring serving utensils with you and label them so they will get back to you. The Society will provide the wine, light snacks, coffee, soda, general table items, etc. Materials for crafts for children will be available during our program by former member Jim Solheim and his daughter Jenny, a hardanger fiddle player, along with our own Scandinavian dancers! Jenny will fiddle while Jim shows scenery and bunads from each tune’s home region (and the dancers do the region’s dances). Jim’s new children’s book from Penguin will also be on sale at 40% off! (See http://jamessolheim.com.)
