The Norwegian Society of Saint Louis is a cultural organization of over 200 member units in the St. Louis bi-state region committed to embracing and promoting our Norwegian heritage. Membership is open to all individuals with similar aspirations in enjoying Norwegian culture, people, and history. 

A number of events, as outlined in the Master Events Schedule below, are held over the course of the year. Norwegian holidays, Norwegian cuisine, language, history, culture and personal experiences are all celebrated. Each event is centered generally around a traditional seasonal Norwegian meal and a program of family interest which follows.

Our Master Event Schedule

  • Scandinavian Smørgåsbord/Potluck  -  March
  • Syttende Mai (Norwegian Independence Day) - On or around May 17th
  • Sankt Hans  Bål  - (Picnic with bonfire celebrating the longest day of the year) - Late June
  • Scandinavian Picnic (fellowship with local Danish/Swedish societies) - September
  • Julefest (formal Christmas Party Dinner) - Early December

Board members meet four times a year to plan activities. New leaders are welcome.

Modest annual membership fees make the club’s activities possible.
